The 2013 Knox Junior High School Wind Ensemble made it to the State Honor Band Finals last Friday, June 28.  Five judges listened to a musical piece submitted from an actual performance and chose the top two junior high schools from each of the seven areas to advance to the finals.

“Knox Junior High is currently the TBA exemplary junior high band program,” stated Pat Paris, Fine Arts Coordinator. “And their advancement to State reflects their continued high standards in student achievement.”

A panel will listen to the top fourteen tapes on Sunday, July 21, at the Texas Bandmasters Clinic and Convention, and one band will be chosen as the State Honor Band.  The winning band will perform at the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio in February 2014.
