Michael McBroom always has pushed himself.
From his days in the pool at The Woodlands High School to his decorated stint at the University of Texas, McBroom’s swimming career has been impressive.
It took on another dimension Wednesday in Barcelona, Spain, where McBroom set the American record in the 800-meter freestyle at the FINA World Championships.
McBroom turned in a time of 7 minutes, 43.6 seconds to place second behind China’s Sun Yang, the gold medalist in the 800 at last year’s Olympic Games. Click here for full story
