The Conroe Independent School District Education Foundation is on a mission to help teachers.

The nonprofit organization was formed in 2001 to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who wish to pursue a degree in education and to CISD educators who wish to further their educational degrees.

President Nelda Luce Blair said the foundation focuses on educators, believing they hold the key to improve the district.

“Giving a kid some education or a teacher more education can go a long way for CISD and the individual as well,” Blair said. “Our motto is: ‘planting seeds of knowledge to grow the teaching field.’ ”
