Madi McLellan of The Woodlands turned in a strong performance to lead her team to a team championship at the Region III Preview Meet on Saturday at Atascocita High School. The Woodlands boys made it a sweep, finishing comfortably ahead of team runner-up Strake Jesuit. McLellan won the five-kilometer race with a time of 17 minutes, 58 seconds, 36 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Khayla Patel of Houston Memorial.
The Woodlands finished first with 33 points, followed by Katy Seven Lakes (68), Kingwood Park (144), Katy (186) and Memorial (192).
