The Woodlands will finally play its home opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Woodforest Bank Stadium. That’s the good news.
The bad news is the Highlanders (1-2) will have to take on Monterrey Prepa Tec without one of their key players.
Junior quarterback Chris Andritsos, who has been splitting time with senior Dylan Larsen in The Woodlands’ non-district games, suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee against Katy and will be out for six to eight weeks, according to Highlanders coach Mark Schmid. Andritsos had surgery on Monday.
