College Park is a team on the rise.

The boys made their way to state for the first time two years ago and placed third, and last year they repeated that feat. “The first year it was a pretty big surprise to get third,” coach Mike Gibson said.

“Our goal was just to make it to state, and that group definitely achieved about as much as they could have. And then this past year, we were super-young. We lost a bunch of seniors due to injury, and so my young sophomores and juniors had to step up, and they filled in the shoes real well. “Now they’re motivated to take it a step further this year.”
