Building on their momentum from a preseason tournament win, The Woodlands hockey squad opened its 2013-14 season 2-0 with a 6-4 win over Cypress Woods and a 7-0 shutout over Brazos Valley at the Willowbrook Aerodrome this weekend.
The Woodlands staved off a late rally by Cy-Woods thanks to a strong showing in the first period. The Highlanders scored four of their six goals before the first intermission.
