FOOTBALL: A&M Consolidated clobbers College Park

A&M Consolidated took another step toward the state football playoffs Friday night, with College Park winding up in the footprint. The Tigers used a smothering performance by their improving defense and saw their offense win the matchup against College Park’s league-leading defense during a 41-7 victory at Tigerland Stadium on Friday night.

DSC09712 A&M Consolidated (5-2, 3-1 in District 14-5A) rolled to its second lopsided triumph, moving with one win of clinching a postseason berth. The Tigers were coming off a 56-20 win over Bryan. College Park (4-3, 1-2) dropped into a fourth-place tie with Lufkin. Nicholas Black scored College Park’s only touchdown on a 74-yard TD run in the fourth quarter. Click here for full story
