FOOTBALL: Cooper falls to St. Stephen’s Episcopal in lightning-shortened game

After falling behind by two scores in the first half of its game against St. Stephen’s of Austin on Friday night, The John Cooper School’s hopes of making a comeback were crushed by inclement weather.

The Dragons fell to the visiting Spartans 15-0 in Cooper’s homecoming game at Pugh Field. The game was called due to lightning with 9:51 remaining in the third quarter.

After a scoreless first quarter, the Spartans (4-2) found the end zone on a 14-yard pass from Taylor Brown to Grant Owens. The extra point attempt was blocked, keeping the lead at 6-0. Click here for full story
