College Park’s Connor Meaux and The Woodlands’ Madi McLellan both finished near the top of the podium at last year’s District 14-5A Championships. This time around, both runners will be looking for individual titles while also trying to lead their respective teams to success.
College Park High School will play host to the meet, which is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday. With a time of 15 minutes, 41 seconds, Meaux finished second to The Woodlands’ Adam Davidson in last year’s 5,000-meter race.
“Connor’s a competitor, so, obviously, he wants to win,” College Park coach Mike Gibson said. “That would be a nice thing, but with Connor and the rest of the guys, they’re really concerned about doing well as a team.”
The boys varsity race will likely be a two-team grudge match between College Park and The Woodlands. The Highlanders edged the Cavaliers by three points last year and are seeking their third consecutive title. click here for full story
