The Woodlands’ open date last week came at both a good time and a bad time, according to coach Mark Schmid. The good: it gave the Highlanders some time to rest and recover. The bad: it put their four-game winning streak on hold.

The goal for HSgridiron.com No. 8 The Woodlands (5-2, 3-0 in District 14-5A) is to pick up right where it left off. That starts with Friday’s road game against Bryan (2-6, 0-4). The Vikings lead the all-time series between the two programs 7-6. The Highlanders won last season’s contest, 54-14.
