The Speech and Debate Team won the sweepstakes position in the small division at the Klein Oak Junior High Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday, October 19. The following individuals won awards.

• Lincoln Douglas Debate: first place – Devin Metzger, second place – Dylan Mitchell, third place – Sara Waldrop and Qintaar Rafique.
• Sara Waldrop won the Top Speaker Award.
• Extemporaneous Speaking: first place – Sarah Waldrop, second place – Devin Metzger, fourth place – Dylan Mitchell, and fifth place – Ben Scarborough. Poetry: fourth place – Dana Cadey.
