Cooper finished its first varsity season with an emotional victory in the pouring rain. Fifteen seniors were honored before the game, and the Dragons produced a 41-0 victory over Village on Friday night at Pugh Field. Cooper closed the year 6-4 overall, including 3-4 against varsity competition.

“Last year was the first year playing football for me, so it took me a while to get the hang of it,” Dragons senior Rami Asi said. “This year, we started getting better and better. Everything started to click. Ending it on a win in the pouring rain was like a storybook ending.”

Cooper led 21-0 at halftime on the strength of two touchdown passes and a scoring run by sophomore quarterback Michael Gerber. Senior Iker Pimienta reeled in a 17-yarder in the corner of the end zone midway through the first quarter, and junior Sam Hodges grabbed a four-yarder 3:41 before the break. click here for full story
