With a formal opening date set for summer 2015, officials with the crazily-anticipated Grand Texas Theme Park revealed further details about the heir apparent to Houston’s much-missed Six Flags AstroWorld.
During a Wednesday press conference at the Greenway DoubleTree, developer Monty Galland stressed that the project in New Caney will be far more than just roller coasters and water slides, but rather an “entertainment district” where families can spend a long weekend without leaving the 630-acre enclave.
- Grand Texas Theme Park – Prepare to be transported back in time to the early days of Texas, when it was a vast frontier full of intrigue & excitement, as you enter the gates of Grand Texas Theme Park! Through vivid storytelling & entertainment, thrilling rides and much more, your family will be immersed in the Texas of long ago. Rollercoasters, Water Rides, Dozens of Midway Games & Attractions, Adventure Park complete with zip lines, ropes course and other eco-friendly activities (Phase II), Daily Shows in multiple Entertainment Areas, Equestrian Trails, “Agritainment” area with petting zoos, pony rides, a working farm and more, Living Museum, Full-Size Steam Train, Real Stage Coach Line and more!
- Ballpark of Montgomery County – Grand Texas Sports & Entertainment District will host professional, independent league baseball at the Ballpark of Montgomery County. The stadium will accommodate up to 6,000 guests on game day and up to 9,000 for concerts. Visitors to the Grand Texas Sports & Entertainment District will want to see Houston’s newest professional baseball team, attend concerts or other events in the comfort of the modern stadium.

- Grand Texas Sportsplex – Located on the Northside of the Grand Texas Sports & Entertainment District will be up to 90 acres of green, top of the line, tournament-ready baseball and softball fields with the ability to accommodate up to 200 teams at a time.
