A Perfect Finish To The Woodlands’ Season

When her players showed up for two-a-days back in August, coach Leslie Madison said she had high hopes for this year’s group of Highlanders. But a perfect season? “That’s not something you even think about,” said The Woodlands coach.

Undefeated they are, however, after a dominating 25-22, 26-24, 25-17 sweep of #3 San Antonio Churchill to claim the 5A state title on Saturday night and finish the season 45-0. “I have no words,” said Madison. “Nothing can describe the feeling right now.”

As usual, it was All-Texas setter Courtney Eckenrode taking full advantage of her many, many weapons to dissect the Churchill defense. click here for complete story
