The Woodlands coach Mark Schmid said his players are looking forward to the challenge of facing the No. 1 team in Texas this weekend.
The Highlanders will take on Allen, the No. 2 team in the country according to USA Today, at 2 p.m. Saturday at Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco in a Class 5A Division I regional game.
“They have most of the pieces of the puzzle that won them a state title last year back in place,” Schmid said. “They’re an outstanding football team. There’s no doubt about that. In order to win a state title, that’s who you have to go through. Whether you go through them the first round or the last round, you’ve got to go through Allen.”
