The Woodlands’ state championship team picks up nine selections
Several local volleyball players have been named to the All-District 14-5A teams, led by nine selections from The Woodlands’ state championship squad.
Lady Highlanders coach Leslie Madison was named Coach of the Year after leading her team to a perfect 45-0 record and the first state volleyball title in school history. The Woodlands had a perfect 12-0 mark in league play.
Senior setter Courtney Eckenrode was named the district’s Most Valuable Player and senior libero Kelly Quinn was named Defensive Player of the Year.
College Park senior Andi Platt was named Setter of the Year. The Lady Cavaliers finished their season with a 25-11 overall record, including a 9-3 mark in district play. click here for complete story, photos and awards
