Swimming: Cooper swimmer sets two school records in first meet of the season

Junior Kelsey Vetalice set two school records for the John Cooper School swim team late last month at the Dragons’ first meet of the 2013-14 season, the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association Gulf Championships at Conroe ISD Natatorium.

Vetalice took home first and second place in the 200 and 100 freestyle events, respectively. Her marks of 1 minute, 47.85 seconds and 51.10 seconds in those events set school records.

In addition to Vetalice’s effort, senior Ryan Sharkey placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4 minutes, 40.27 seconds and took eighth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.31 seconds. click here for complete story
