No head coach? No problem. The Woodlands defeated Oak Ridge 67-35 on Friday night without coach Dana Bruton, who was attending her daughter’s wedding. Assistant Trista Tatsch stepped in to fill the role and was happy to move her varsity coaching record to 1-0.
“I’ve been at The Woodlands so long, it doesn’t really seem any different,” Tatsch said. “I’ve had these kids already, so it wasn’t that big of an adjustment. It was fun, though, to be the head person in charge for a little bit. I’m 1-0 — I’ll keep that record for a little bit.”
More importantly, the Lady Highlanders moved to 11-5 overall and 2-0 in District 14-5A play this season. The Lady War Eagles, meanwhile, dropped to 9-7 and 0-2 in league play. click here for complete story
