The Woodlands band, volleyball team celebrate national accolades

Even though the weather was unusually cold last Wednesday night, that didn’t stop a large crowd who came out to support The Woodlands High School’s newest National Champions! A parade marched around Market Street’s Central Park area and an exciting ceremony was held to honor TWHS Marching Band which is now a national champion after garnering the first place award at the Bands of America Grand National Championships last month. Plus, the group received awards for Outstanding Music Performance and Outstanding General Effect in addition to their No. 1 national ranking. Kudos to all the band members and band director JONI PEREZ.
TWHS Volleyball Team was also the subject of the celebration that evening. They are national champions as well! The Lady Highlanders’ 45-0 season record (wow!) earned them a Class 5A state title and a No. 1 ranking in the final MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Volleyball Rankings! They make us extremely proud, and a large amount of credit goes to Volleyball Coach LESLIE MADISON. click here for complete story
