Football: The Woodlands DE Krolczyk picked to all-state second team

The Woodlands RB Carr, Magnolia West DE Jones get honorable mention recognition

Zak Krolczyk used his junior football season at The Woodlands to refine his work ethic and approach to the game.

His senior year was certainly one to remember.

Krolczyk was a second-team selection on the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors All-State team released on Thursday. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end was a mainstay for the Highlanders’ defense.

Krolczyk sustained a broken ankle during spring practice in 2012 and became a force on the defensive front late in the season. In 2013, he was a top-flight defender who helped The Woodlands finish 10-3 and win an outright District 14-5A championship. click here for complete story
