College Park coach Clifton McNeely wanted his players to focus on two things this week: taking care of business in the classroom with final exams and taking care of business on the court against Oak Ridge on Friday night. Check, and check.

The Cavaliers picked up a 77-65 victory over the War Eagles in their first District 14-5A game of the season while improving to 13-5 overall. Oak Ridge, meanwhile, dropped to 11-5 overall and 0-2 in league play with the loss.
“I challenged them because this was final exam week,” McNeely said with a chuckle. “I said, ‘If you lose, you guys all fail your finals, so you’re going to have to explain that to your parents.’ We had a great week of preparation. … I’m really proud with their performance and their effort out here tonight. They came out and played well.”
Keanu Andaya led College Park with 23 points, 13 of which came in the first quarter and helped the Cavs jump out to a 24-13 lead. The senior point guard, who recently returned from an ankle injury, swished home three 3-pointers in the opening period.
