Like many men, Matthew Singer is a creature of habit when it comes to fashion.

The Neiman Marcus fashion director prefers a navy jacket with most of his looks. While today’s men are more confident in making fashion choices, he says, following trends for any season requires planning.

“It’s about baby steps. You want to be on trend, but not the trend,” he said during the men’s fall trend presentation, hosted by Lamar and Theresa Roemer at Neiman Marcus Galleria.

Singer presented a well-edited fashion show, featuring male models showing off fall trends from gemstone colors (deep red, topaz and emerald) and nostalgic patterns (herringbone) to motorcycle jackets and velvet blazers.
