The love of music for a former Lufkin High School band member started at an early age and has never left. Now, Carl Wallace shares that love by making some pretty interesting instruments.

When browsing through the wide selection of guitars at Sound Techs in Lufkin, customers will find a corner that is home to some unusual guitars made out of cigar boxes and other types of containers.

“People always asks, ‘How did you think of that?’, and really it is nothing new,” Wallace said. “If you look at old pictures dating back to the civil war, you will see troops around campfires with instruments made out of boxes and barrels.”
