College Park guard Kyle Robertson has made some key contributions for the Cavaliers so far this season. But perhaps the biggest of all came on Friday night as his team jumped back into District 14-5A play.
Robertson scored a game-high 22 points, including four 3-pointers, as College Park took control right out of the gates and cruised to a decisive 63-34 victory over the visiting Conroe Tigers.
The Cavs used superb offensive execution early on to build a 14-0 lead. Conroe wasn’t able to score a basket until Victor Bernald’s layup with 2:08 remaining in the opening quarter.
“I think the biggest key for us is we were able to get back in the gym and practice this week,” College Park coach Clifton McNeely said. “With the tournament schedule and all of that, we haven’t really been able to work on things. … I thought our kids did a great job of preparation this week.”
With the victory, the Cavs improved to 20-5 overall this season and 2-0 in district play. College Park has now won 20 or more games in seven consecutive seasons under McNeely. Conroe dropped to 8-13 overall and 0-3 in league play with the loss. click here for complete story
