Conroe trimmed its deficit to a single point before Oak Ridge’s Tanner Doyel was fouled and hit three free throws. Conroe’s Brice Harrison converted an offensive rebound into a basket early in the fourth quarter to cut the War Eagles’ lead to six points. But Josh Myers got open for a 3-pointer to put Oak Ridge in front by nine points.

That’s how it went for the Tigers on Tuesday night, and Oak Ridge sealed the deal at the free-throw line, winning 67-57 for its first District 14-5A victory.

“They’re good shooters,” Conroe coach John Oliverio said. “I know from my time at Westfield that they’ve got some kids who can shoot.”

Oak Ridge improved to 14-8 overall and 1-2 in 14-5A play while the Tigers fell to 8-14 and 0-4, respectively. click here for complete story and additional photos
