Oak Ridge sophomore forward Alyssa Smith was disappointed when she couldn’t capitalize on a corner kick opportunity in Thursday’s 2-1 loss to Fort Bend Austin.

But when she was sitting in coach Jim Collins’ class on Friday morning, she made a vow to redeem herself. And that’s just what she did.

Smith put away a corner kick from teammate Sydney Vincent in the second half of the Lady War Eagles’ 2-1 victory over Cypress Woods on Friday afternoon at The Woodlands High School Ninth Grade Campus. click here for complete story
