After having brain surgery in November, Conroe High soccer goalkeeper Lauren Young is dusting off her boots and hat to compete in the 2014 Montgomery County Fair Queen contest. Only 11 students are vying for this year’s Montgomery County Fair Queen crown, compared with last year’s 22 candidates, with Young overcoming major obstacles just to participate. Young was playing last spring when she was injured during a game, her mother Marion Young said. click here for complete story
