The Woodlands forced 42 turnovers and held Conroe to 26 percent shooting from the floor on Tuesday night as the Lady Highlanders picked up a 56-23 victory on their home court. After managing just three points in the second quarter, The Woodlands exploded and outscored the Tigerettes 24-6 in the third quarter to pick up the District 14-5A victory.
“We went to different combinations early in the game, and the people that we expected to step up just didn’t quite do it,” Lady Highlanders coach Dana Bruton said. “So we had a serious conversation about, ‘How successful do you want to be, and what are you willing to do to get that done?’ I think you saw it when we came out in the third quarter.”
Senior Nicole Iademarco and sophomore Payton Walker poured in 10 and nine points, respectively, in the pivotal quarter for The Woodlands, which improved to 19-7 overall and 9-0 in league play. click here for complete story
