Fifty-seven student-athletes from The Woodlands, Oak Ridge and College Park high schools signed their Letters of Intent on Wednesday as part of National Signing Day.
The Woodlands, which accounted for 40 of those signees, held a celebration in the school’s gymnasium and gave each student-athlete the chance to address the crowd of coaches, teammates, teachers, friends and family members.
“It’s a great feeling, very rewarding, knowing that all of our hard work has paid off throughout our four years of high school,” said Logan Emery, who will be running cross-country at the University of Texas at Austin. “Everyone is just really excited about moving on to the next level. They’ll never forget how great of a time high school was and how much they learned here.”
With some final additions earlier this week, The Woodlands surpassed its mark of 36 signees from 2013. According to volleyball player Courtney Eckenrode, it’s a testament to the dedication and sacrifice put forth by all involved with the school’s athletic program. click here for complete story
