BASEBALL: The Woodlands beats Klein Collins, Kincaid

The Woodlands’ baseball team won its season-opener on Friday at Scotland Yard, defeating Klein Collins 11-1. The Highlanders, last year’s Class 5A state champions, got a standout pitching performance from senior Michael Francis. The 5-foot-11 right-hander threw all five innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run with four strikeouts.

Offensively, The Woodlands received major contributions from Colton Wardle and Chris Andritsos, who both collected three hits. Hillin Warren led the squad with three RBI, and Wardle and Andritsos recorded two each. Ben Gooch tallied two hits and an RBI. click here for complete story and photos
