
The Woodlands has come up short six times in the last eight years – by the glass-half-empty way of thinking.
The Highlanders see their run of regional tournament appearances quite differently.
“People look at it and say, ‘Hey, you’ve been there seven times and you’ve only won it once,’ so we’re a failure,” 12th-year coach Hans Kleinschmidt said. “But a lot of teams never ever make it to the regional tournament, so we’ve been fortunate.”
They made the regional tournament for the seventh time in eight years last season. They’ve made the regional finals five times in that span but won the regional championship only once, in 2010. click here for complete story
