Sand Volleyball: #1 Pepperdine Waves sand volleyballers take care of business vs. Roadrunners

The #1 Pepperdine sand volleyball rolled past CSU Bakersfield 5-0 to open action at the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge at the Olympic Training Center. The Waves won all five matches in straight sets. Pepperdine improves to 3-0 on the year and 37-1 all time.
The No. 4 and No. 5 teams in the lineup took to the sand first. Emily Cook (Huntington Beach, Calif./Murrieta Valley HS) and Samantha Cash (San Diego, Calif./Canyon Crest Academy) teamed up to top Sara Little and Lisa Bartsch by the widest margin of the day, 21-9, 21-9.
 
Sophie Asprey (Southlake, Texas/Liberty Christian School/Tulane) and Katie Messing (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands HS) followed suit, taking the first set against Sydney Haynes and Danika Youngblook, 21-9, before clinching the match 21-13 in the second frame. click here for complete story
