College Park quickly found an identity and put together a remarkable season that included a 25-game winning streak and a District 14-5A championship. But Montgomery’s rise from the ashes to a District 18-4A championship and a bi-district playoff victory was nothing short of stunning, either, and for his efforts, the Bears’ Currie Byrd has been chosen as The Courier’s Montgomery County Player of the Year. College Park teammates Keanu Andaya and Brett Reed swept the Offensive and Defensive Most Valuable Player awards, and for good measure, the Cavaliers’ Clifton McNeely is The Courier’s Coach of the Year. click here for complete story
