College Park quickly found an identity and put together a remarkable season that included a 25-game winning streak and a District 14-5A championship. But Montgomery’s rise from the ashes to a District 18-4A championship and a bi-district playoff victory was nothing short of stunning, either, and for his efforts, the Bears’ Currie Byrd has been chosen as The Courier’s Montgomery County Player of the Year.
