The College Park Cavalier baseball team is starting to find its grove and came into Tuesday night’s district game against Lufkin tied atop the district standings with The Woodlands at 3-0.
In the bottom of the first inning Justin Heinrich leads off with a single, followed by a Jacob Mardick single, scoring Heinrich and the Cavaliers quickly have a 1-0 lead. Lufkin had opportunities in each of the first three innings with runners in scoring position, but Cavalier starting pitcher Beau Ridgeway didn’t allow any hits with Panther runners in scoring position as Lufkin left seven runners on base in those first three innings and 10 total for the game.
