It was Conroe’s first postseason soccer victory in 16 seasons, but business as usual for the Tigers on the bus ride home.
“If you walk into a game and you don’t expect to win,” Conroe coach Jack Richburg said, “you don’t belong there.”
The Tigers proved they belonged on a wet Thursday night at Tomball High School, turning back Kingwood 2-1 in the Class 5A bi-district playoffs. Conroe improved to 18-3-2 with the victory and will now face Del Valle in the area round. Del Valle edged Pflugerville 2-1 on Friday night. Richburg was able to scout the game and said the Tigers would face Del Valle at 6 p.m. Thursday at Cub Stadium in Brenham. click here for complete story
