Softball: College Park grad picked 17th in National Pro Fastpitch draft

Texas A&M softball player Nicole Morgan was selected 17th overall by the Pennsylvania Rebellion in the National Pro Fastpitch draft on Monday night.

Morgan, a senior, is a 2010 graduate of College Park High School.

“I’m excited to join the Pennsylvania Rebellion this summer,” Morgan said. “Playing professional softball has been a goal of mine since I started playing the sport and I am so thankful for the opportunity I’ve been given. My career at Texas A&M has prepared me for this once-in-a-lifetime chance and I am so grateful for the coaches and teammates who have helped me reach this point.”

Morgan was the first pick of the fifth round, and the fifth pick by the Rebellion. She will join fellow rookies Dallas Escobedo (Arizona State), Taylor Edwards (Nebraska), Bryana Walker (Washington), Anna Miller (South Carolina Upstate) and Victoria Hayward (Washington) on the team’s roster this summer. click here for complete story
