The Lady Highlanders went to the District 14-5A Golf Championship on Wednesday and Thursday, April 2-3, and brought home the District Champions trophy! These girls will represent TWHS in the Regional Championship at Cottonwood Country Club in Waco on Monday and Tuesday, April 14-15.

Leading the way was District Champion Brooke McDougald who shot rounds of 71-75 (146). Brooke was followed by silver-medalist Allie Andersen’s 149 (78-71) and bronze-medalist Greta Bruner’s 151 (78-73). Also contributing were Carley Charbonneau’s 153 (78-75) and Ashlynn Novak’s 155 (77-78). The A Team’s winning total was 598 (304-294), qualifying them for the Regional Tournament in two weeks.
The Lady Highlander B Team finished in third place, just missing Regional qualifying. Leading the way was Andrea Lopez who shot rounds of 77-77 (154) and qualifying as a medalist for the Regional in Waco. Others competing were Lauren Bacon’s 156 (79-77), Jayne Clark’s 159 (79-80), Rebecca Benandi’s 167 (80-87), and Hannah Bruner’s 172 (85-87). The B Team total was 636 (315-321) and good enough for the bronze medals.
Competing as medalists were Ana Contreras’s 157 (79-78), Oriana Jerez’s 167 (79-88), and Hannah Wallis’s 168 (84-84). (Story – The Woodlands HS Golf website)
