The Woodlands coach Hans Kleinschmidt didn’t talk to his players for long immediately following Tuesday night’s match, but his words were to the point.
“I know we’re not satisfied with where we are now,” he said.
The Highlanders defeated Round Rock McNeil 5-1 in extra time in a Region II-5A quarterfinal showdown at Rankin Field at Hohlt Park. With the victory, The Woodlands (21-0-1) advanced to the regional tournament for the eighth time in nine seasons. The Highlanders will take on McKinney Boyd, the team that knocked them out of the tournament last season, at Round Rock ISD’s Kelley Reeves Athletic Complex on Friday.
