Track & Field: The Woodlands sweeps 14-5A titles

The Woodlands boys and girls captured a pair of team titles at the District 14-5A Track and Field Championships on Wednesday night at The Woodlands High School.

After entering the day with only a four-point edge over Oak Ridge, the Lady Highlanders quickly took control of the meet and cruised to a 114-point victory over the rest of the field with a total of 238. Oak Ridge placed second with 124 points, and A&M Consolidated took third with a score of 71.

Kaitlynn Lindsey and Madi McLellan both captured a pair of individual golds to lead The Woodlands. Lindsey took first in the 200- and 400-meter runs with times of 25.18 seconds and 57.07 seconds, respectively. McLellan took first in the 3,200-meter run on Tuesday night and took first in the 1,600-meter run on Wednesday with times of 10 minutes, 26.91 seconds and 4 minutes, 50.70 seconds, respectively. click here for complete story
