It’s safe to say The Woodlands looked like a good bet for the Region II-5A tournament. The Highlanders have yet to lose a match and take an impressive 21-0-1 record into Friday’s semifinal match against McKinney Boyd (13-4-6).
But the Conroe Tigers may have raised some eyebrows along the way, knocking off Kingwood, Del Valle and Round Rock Westwood — all by a single goal — while never trailing in the first three rounds of the playoffs. Conroe punched its ticket to the semifinals at Round Rock’s Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex with a 2-1 victory over Westwood on Tuesday. The Tigers (21-3-2) will face Richardson Lake Highlands (18-1-4) in the second of the two semifinals, after the match between The Woodlands and Boyd. click here for complete story
