McKinney Boyd ousted The Woodlands from the playoffs for the second year in a row, and this time the Broncos also halted an unbeaten season.

Cody Spitzer scored twice and Evan Davies made 10 saves to lead Boyd to a 2-1 victory in extra time in the Region II-5A semifinals on Friday at the Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The Broncos (14-4-6) knocked off the Highlanders (21-1-1) by the same score in the same round last year. They will play either Conroe (21-3-2) or Lake Highlands (18-1-4) in the regional final at 1 p.m. Saturday. click here for complete story
