Playing in cold, windy conditions, The Woodlands girls stand in second place in the Region II-5A golf tournament being played at Cottonwood Creek Golf Club in Waco.

The Lady Highlanders turned in a 322 on Monday, with 18 holes to play today. Allen leads the tournament with a score of 320. Austin Westlake is third at 324, and Lake Travis is fourth at 332.
“We had a two-hour delay this morning for lightning and hail,” The Woodlands coach Steve Cribari said. “It was unbelievably miserable. We’re talking about 40-mph gusts.”
