Baseball: Pitching, defense lead College Park past A&M Consolidated

534dfd5b10a3c.imageCollege Park mustered only three hits on Tuesday night, but a complete game on the mound from Beau Ridgeway, timely defense and some costly mistakes by A&M Consolidated allowed the Cavaliers to slide by with a 2-1 win.

College Park took advantage of the Tigers’ two errors, scoring on both of them, and Ridgeway went the distance, allowing only five hits and one earned run with four strikeouts and three walks. But the most critical play of the game may have come in the sixth inning, when center fielder Austin Stokes gunned down A&M Consolidated base runner Tyler Landers at the plate to prevent the tying run. click here for complete story
