The junior varsity and varsity Conroe High and Oak Ridge High softball teams wore pink “Strike Out Cancer” shirts during a recent game and raised more than $1,000 for the American Cancer Society.
The Conroe Tigerettes hosted the Oak Ridge Lady War Eagles on April 8 and both schools participated in the Cancer Awareness Night. The teams wore pink “Strike out Cancer” shirts to school while parents and teachers wore the shirt to work and to the game. More than 125 shirts were sold, with profits from the shirts, the concession stand and silent auction baskets being donated. Additionally, the girls wore different colored ribbons in their hair to pay tribute to someone they know who has or is currently battling cancer. click here for complete story
