Oak Ridge defeated Spring 21-12 on Friday night on the Lady Lions’ home field in a game that lasted nearly three and a half hours, completing the 2-0 bi-district series sweep.
The Lady War Eagles improved to 18-11 and will face off against Cedar Ridge at 7 p.m. on Thursday in Weimar in a one-game, area-round playoff. Spring, meanwhile, ended its season with a 19-13 mark. Oak Ridge held a 20-3 lead heading into the bottom of the fifth, but Spring refused to go down easy and drove in eight runs to cut the gap to single digits.
