Baseball: Atascocita rolls past College Park, completes bi-district sweep

College Park had just forged a 3-1 lead. Montana Parsons was able to pitch out of trouble in the first three innings.

And then, thud. Atascocita capitalized on the Cavaliers’ woes in the field, striking for five runs in the fourth-inning on its way to a 9-4 victory over College Park on Friday night. The Eagles completed a two-game sweep of College Park in the Class 5A bi-district playoffs. Atascocita will play the winner of Round Rock and Westlake in the area playoffs next week.

College Park’s Colin Cameron booted a ground ball before a sacrifice put runners at second and third. Parsons then balked to bring one run across the plate, and the Eagles followed with four hits, two of which never left the infield. It was 6-3 and the Cavaliers never got back in the game. click here for complete story
