The Twilight Zone One Act competition started almost 30 years ago, back in Youngstown, Ohio, at Woodrow Wilson High School.
“Our theater director, Robert Vargo, came up with the idea of having students compete in a One Act format where four seniors were chosen to direct each of the classes, 9-12 grades,” said Tim Jackubek, department head and technical director of The Woodlands High School Theatre.
The Twilight Zone series was chosen because of the science fiction format and the award winning scripts produced, directed and narrated by Rod Serling, he said.
