Halle Ludwig has won the hearts of students, teachers and administrators at The Woodlands High School – many of whom have spent the past month trying to raise as much funds as possible to pay for a kidney transplant for the 5th grader at Mitchell Intermediate.

The individuals involved in the effort said they were touched by her story, and some knew her through her brother sophomore Layne Ludwig, who plays on the high school football team.
