A four-round run in the Class 5A softball playoffs is quite the accomplishment for most programs.

But for Plano West and The Woodlands, two teams with similar state championship expectations, similar outcomes in their most recent postseason series and similarly built lineups, round four is just the latest roadblock toward reaching the UIL state tournament. The Lady Wolves and Lady Highlanders have both been state-ranked this season.
